{"id":99,"date":"2018-10-31T09:58:53","date_gmt":"2018-10-31T14:58:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.middleclasspoor.com\/?p=99"},"modified":"2018-10-31T09:58:53","modified_gmt":"2018-10-31T14:58:53","slug":"its-the-most-wonderful-time-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.middleclasspoor.com\/?p=99","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Halloween!\u00c2\u00a0 What, did you think I meant some other holiday?<\/p>\n<p>The house is decorated.\u00c2\u00a0 The candy is ready.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8230; And I&#8217;m plague-ridden with a bad cold\/flu bug, and so is Poor Rose, my younger daughter.\u00c2\u00a0 Poor Gail Junior, however, is still hale and hearty, and will delight in passing out the treats.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t have the time or extra cash for one of my favorite Halloween meals, and since half the family is sick I suppose it is just as well.\u00c2\u00a0 I like to take ribs and a bottle of barbecue sauce and let them slow cook all day.\u00c2\u00a0 Then I greet the (older) trick or treaters while ripping meat off a bone with &#8216;bloody&#8217; lips.\u00c2\u00a0 It gives us all a giggle, and I love ribs anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Poor Husband, who unfortunately has to work tonight, wants us to do our Christmas decorating in a Nightmare Before Christmas style.\u00c2\u00a0 Being close to Disney World means we have lots of opportunities to buy decorations that aren&#8217;t available most other places.\u00c2\u00a0 But that would be very expensive, Disney prices being what they are.\u00c2\u00a0 I will be on the lookout for ideas to make my own spooky Christmas decorations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Halloween!\u00c2\u00a0 What, did you think I meant some other holiday?
